Alright, I'm feeling pretty fired up today...and I needed somewhere to vent. So, here it goes. I think John McCain made a smart move by picking a woman for a running mate. He's definitely picked back up some of the republican voters who were planning on voting democratic this year. Sarah Palin was not a good pick though. Mother to mother, I've got major issues with her being the VP or possibly the President of the United States. She has a FOUR month old baby with SPECIAL NEEDS. Not to mention a pregnant teenage daughter. I'm sorry, call me old fashion, but she needs to be at home with her children. She has a darling little baby who needs his mother. Does she realize what it's going to be like taking care of a child with Down Syndrome? Does she know how important this first year is for him? She will have to make so many important decisions for him. This child needs his mother at home. Who is taking care of him while she's out campaigning? Is he being formula feed because she's too busy for him? Who is helping her daughter through this hard time in her life? What are mothers for? How are these children going to grow up without their mother there for them like she should be? Marriage and family....isn't that what republicans are fighting for? Keeping the traditional family together? Where has the sacredness of motherhood gone?
All of that aside, how can we expect a mother to young children be completely devoted to her position as VP? Not saying that I support Hillary, but at least she didn't have any young children at home. She could devote all of her time to building/defending this country. Sarah can't. No matter how hard she tries, she just won't be able to there for her country like a VP should be. And if she is, then it's at the expense of her children.
I'm not endorsing one candidate or the other, just voicing some of my concerns. What are your thoughts?
For your viewing pleasure....I just couldn't help myself.
