We just got back from Minnesota (yes, pictures are coming). Autism really smacked us in the face while we were there. Being around other people (especially other kids) always seems to remind us of how different Seth is. After a long last day there (but some amazingly comforting words from my father in law) we boarded the plane. I sat down in my seat and looked over at the woman across the isle. She had the book, The Horse Boy, in her lap. Fate? Yeah, I think so. We chatted on and off the whole plane ride. She works with autistic kids in St. Paul, and said that she could tell Seth was autistic before we even talked. We talked about all of the alternative treatments that we're doing with Seth. She wholeheartedly agrees with all of it. She said it's all about breaking patterns in their energy fields. We talked about the book, The Horse Boy. I haven't read it yet, but it's in my never-ending cart on Amazon. The dad who wrote the book noticed that their autistic son would start talking when he was around their neighbor's horse. So the family packed up and went to Mongolia to be with the horses. I told her how we are about to leave it all behind and move to a farm because Seth walks outside of his autism cloud when he's outside doing hard work. Farming has been our ultimate goal, but we're starting now for Seth. He needs to be connected with nature, around animals, working hard. She said that we should write a book too, and call it The Farm Boy. Hmmmm....

Sniff...I LOVE your "farm boy."
Megan... You are amazing. Seth is lucky to have such a dedicated, loving mother. I hope to be that kind of mom to our little girl. Good luck with the new beautiful farm life!!!
Your family ROCKS! I can't wait for you all to be in a better place, though it will be further.
Oooh, you should write a book one day! How cool that you ended up near someone like that on the plane.
You totally made me cry. I am glad to have you as a friend as we experience the ride of Autism. The strength you have for Seth renews me to be a better mom for Dane. You're amazing Megan, thank you!
