Pregnant in America

Seth's birth (hospital birth w/massive amounts of drugs) was terrifying, cold and traumatic for both of us. It opened my eyes to realize that there was a better, more natural way of doing things. Ella's birth (at home) was the most liberating, empowering, amazing, joyful experience of my life. Her birth was a warm celebration of life and motherhood. I am so passionate about natural, at-home births.

If you are pregnant, going to be pregnant, know someone who might get pregnant PLEASE watch this movie.

This clip will only show you 54 minutes of the movie...then you have to wait a little bit to finish it. Let me assure you that it is well worth your time.

i'm so sorry your experience with seth's birth was traumatic - but i'm glad that ella's was the exact opposite! although sam was born in the hospital, i would describe it exactly as you describe ella's. it was a natural, empowering, amazing event. really, having a baby is beyond description, isn't it? :) of course i feel fortunate that i was in the care of a doctor & nurse that supported the way i wanted to labor. that is SO important.

i'm so glad we get to choose to give birth in a way that we feel most comfortable. i'm sure seth & ella will get to welcome more sibs into the family from the comfort of your home! so sweet. :)
